It’s December! This wig shop on upper State Street in Santa Barbara caught my eye…it’s finally that time of the year!
Joey Chou is a multi-talented artist who produces imaginative and beautifully rendered illustrations. His artistic style is extremely happy and cute, so it’s no surprise that he’s done lots of concept work for companies like Disney, most recently illustrating the “It’s a Small World” book. His range of characters and themes is impressive to say the least.
For many artists, travel is a huge source of inspiration. This inspiration is readily felt in the multi-layered paintings of Joan Perlman.
Resa Blatman is a talented artist and designer that I’ve been following for some time now. She is a pro at integrating her artistic style into her design work flawlessly. But what I’m really excited to share with you is her latest painting series. Consisting of spectacular cut-edge art, her new work comes alive on the wall and takes on a wonderful 3D life of its own.
I love a well designed logo. So today I thought I’d share a tiny sampling of logos from my personal design inspiration library.
The logo above for the islands of the Bahamas has been a favorite of mine for years. I love the way the bright beach colors stack into playful shapes arranged like islands on a map.
Kelly O’Neal paints fabulously stylish shoes. Glittery stilettos, leopard-print high heels, and shoes with pouffy accents, feathers, flowers, and ribbons.
Attention unicorn lovers! This chic hotel restaurant at the Faena Hotel in Buenos Aires is outfitted with white unicorn busts with ruby eyes. I love how this abundantly white room is accented with glass chandeliers and red accents, giving off a clean, modern vibe.
These unique chairs, designed by South African designer Katie Thompson, are perfect for world travelers and those looking to bring a little adventure into their home. Katie’s company, REcreate, produces recycled furniture, lighting, and interior accessories from found objects that combine high-end finishes with eclectic South African flair.
Another Iceland obsessed post coming your way! I immediately fell in love with Morgan’s beautiful portraits of Iceland, whose sometimes rainbow-colored and sometimes snowy landscapes have the same arresting appeal about them as they do in person. I was absolutely smitten with her equally stunning photographs of Joshua Tree National Park in California (after the jump) and her photographs of Europe which evoke a fragile timelessness while capturing the spirit of a place so flawlessly. Simply gorgeous.
