I’ve got a stack of moleskine sketchbooks…I love journaling in them! Found a collection of other people’s moleskine sketches online at Smashing Magazine:
One could say I’m a bit of a travel junkie. That would be an understatement. My bookshelves are packed with Lonely Planets, Rough Guides, DK picture guides, maps, and phrasebooks covering all the major world languages. Stacks of travel magazines litter my living room. I’ve got jars stuffed with foreign currencies and passports brimming with entry and exit stamps. I’m always studying a different language for fun. Being separated from my passport when it’s out for renewal gives me a serious case of the nerves. I’d rather spend all my money on travel than a house or new car. I love exchanging crazy travel stories into the wee hours. It’s my intense belief that travel makes the world a better place.
I’ve been told that my wanderlust is an obsession, that it borders on escapism. I understand how I must appear to others, but I have to disagree. For me traveling is about being awake in the moment. It’s about seeing the bigger picture, and gaining perspective. It’s a constant reminder of the many opportunities I’ve been blessed with. It’s the humbling realization that I am just a tiny spec, one among many. It’s about gaining perspective. Learning. Curiosity. Exploration. Diversity. History. People. Art.
The one constant in my life is that I’m always seeking adventure. The way I consume adventure is through travel. I’m addicted to travel because it makes me feel alive. It transports me away from routines and white picket fences, to a world where everything is unexpected, forever unpredictable, and hopelessly spontaneous. A place where each decision brings about infinite surprises.
So I’ve decided to start this website to share my adventures. I hope you’ll find something in them that stirs something within you. Please feel free to get in touch with me to share your thoughts and adventures too. I’d love to hear from you!
